1.Glare

The key to sports lighting is not only to provide adequate horizontal and vertical illumination, but also to reduce glare, so as to achieve a bright without glare effect. Glare is one of the most important factors affecting the quality of lighting.  The maximum glare index GRmax should be less than 50. The smaller the GR of glare rating, the better the glare limit, when the glare rating is 50. The glare rating GR is calculated by the following formula:

2.Directionality Of Light

The depression Angle of the luminaire not only affects the vertical illumination, but also may have a great glare effect on the athletes, spectators and judges. In the design of stadium lighting, the aiming direction of lamps should be chosen. In addition, the ratio between the main camera and the light coming from the other side should be controlled within a certain range, and the most important lighting is set in the center of the football field and the restricted area.

3.Light Source Color Temperature And Color Rendering Requirements

In order to achieve good color TV retransmission effect, the lighting quality of the stadium is not only related to illumination, but also closely related to the color temperature and color rendering of the lighting source.  According to CIE Publication NO.83 and the requirements of FIFA, the relevant color temperature Tc of the light source should be greater than 5000K and the color rendering index Ra should be greater than or equal to 80 to achieve the best field lighting effect and color TV broadcast effect.

4.Energy Saving Requirements

Lighting energy saving in the use of reasonable lighting scheme and efficient lighting devices, reduce the line loss and good lighting control. Sports buildings are construction projects with large lighting power consumption. From the perspective of energy saving, it is not reasonable to choose the lighting design based on the initial investment cost rather than the lowest operating cost. The initial investment and operating cost should be considered comprehensively according to the specific situation.

Should choose high efficiency light source and lamps, use low energy consumption ballast and other accessories, and add compensation capacitor, improve the power factor of the system. Lighting design should have a variety of lights on mode and corresponding control scheme. The number of lamps can be adjusted to provide suitable lighting for competitions and activities with different needs. The control scheme should be simple, practical and has strong flexibility.
